About Will Limón

Life is the greatest adventure, and I’ve had my share. Being a writer helps me look for more, both in myself and in the world.

My background and interests are quite varied:

  •  I am a published author and long-time SCBWI member (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators). My book, Beginning Again (non-fiction), has sold more than 20,000 copies worldwide, having been published by Hazelden in 1991, HarperCollins in 1992 and in Germany. I have also written about Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks, been a newspaper/magazine columnist and a greeting card writer.
  •  At present, I am working on several picture books and am in final revisions of a middle grade novel.
  •  I have a Master of Social Work degree with a cognate in child welfare and have taught communication and relationship skills, team-building and energetic healing for over thirty years. On these topics, I have self-published three books and co-authored another. I have also created and produced an audio series.
  •  My hobbies include travel, playing the piano and French horn as well as composing classical music.

I live in Longmont, Colorado with my darling wife, Catherine, and two precocious parakeets, Little One and Bellina. I have a grown son and stepson.
